2016 - 2020

I enrolled at the University of Florida in the fall semester of 2016. In my time there, I earned a B.S. in Integrative Biology from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a Minor in Environmental Science from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. I graduated with honors from the Honors College, and completed the both the International Scholars Program and the Peace Corps Prep Program. I will graduate from the University of Florida on May 2nd, 2020.

Goals
Upon graduation, I hope to secure a position at a National or State Park. I have applied to several recent-graduate positions as a biologist or botanist that would last from six months up to a year in duration, and have been referred to hiring managers at parks in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota.

After completion of one of these programs, I hope to serve in the Peace Corps as either an environmental education volunteer or a secondary education science teacher. I am open to serving anywhere I am needed, but would love to return to Kenya, where I conducted a research project in the summer of 2019.
Once I have returned home from the Peace Corps, I plan on returning to school to obtain a PhD in either Ecology or Botany. I am particularly interested in the University of Florida's Interdisciplinary Ecology program but have been doing research on programs at other universities as well.
Once I have earned my PhD, I hope to again work for the National Park Service, but now as the leading Park Biologist at whichever park or other federal land area I work for. I am interested in conducting ecological research and analyzing how the local ecosystem of a park is responding to climate change.
